40 ac., Phase 1: 6 Cabins
The Smokey Valley Cabins project takes advantage of a loophole in Washington State zoning regulations that allows agricultural operations to maintain a small number of guest accommodations on site. Working closely with the owners and carefully mapping the existing trees on their heavily wooded property, we proposed a small campus of private but connected cottages.
Using these impressive forest pillars as landmarks, six cabins are perched along an elevated boardwalk through the grove, taking guests on a meditative journey through the site. A winding pathway promotes accessibility of the woods surrounding the proposed network of structures.
Hand Sketches, 3D Digital Models and Physical Models were all used as tools to develop the site plan and conceptual layout for the six cabins. This project is currently under construction and expected to open Fall 2026.
