Dorian Reid Facade
NIAD (Nurturing Independence through Artistic Development)
Richmond, CA2024+
Object Projects is collaborating with NIAD, a progressive art studio for artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to develop a facade design incorporating the work of NIAD artist Dorian Reid (whose work is currently on display at MoAD in San Francisco).
The design explores options for a new custom-cut metal screen derived from Reid’s artwork, envisioned to cover the facade windows, perimeter fence, and operable parking gate (extent to be determined). In addition to highlighting NIAD’s vibrant artistic identity, the proposed screen integrates consistent “NIAD” signage, unifying the exterior presence of the organization while enhancing both function and expression.
